| Afghanistan is a land locked country which is located in the center of Asia. Afghanistan is also known officially as Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. This neighbour of India is a culture mixed country. The term "Afghanistan," meaning the "Land of Afghans," was mentioned by the sixteenth century Mughal Emperor Babur. However Afghanistan was formed in the year 1747 by Ahemad Shah Durrani. |

At present this country is a state of high-tension. In fact some leading countries have declared Afghanistan as a terrorist nation.
The places which are worth for a visit are:
- Kabul: Capital city.
- Balkh: Ancient city where its history can be still felt.
- Bamiyan: Remains of Lord Buddha, once considered as a wonder of world.
- Heart: A city of Persian influence with various historic sites. Also a gateway to Iran.
- Mazar-e Sharif - home to the impressively tiled Blue Mosque.
