| Chilka Lake Bird Sanctuary is located towards the south-west of Puri, in the Indian state of Orissa. A variety of exotic and beautiful birds reside within this sanctuary. Some of the native and migratory species that makes the sanctuary a delight for the bird watchers include greylag geese, white bellied sea eagles, purple moorhen, herons and flamingos. |

| Chilka is a famous home of the world's largest breeding colonies of flamingos. Apart from that, the shores of Chilka are home to blackbuck, spotted deer, golden jackals and hyenas. Around 160 species of fish and other marine creatures, including the famous Chilka dolphin can be found in this sanctuary. |
