Corbett National Park is one of the oldest national parks in India. It was established in 1936 and initially the park was named as Hailey National Park. It was renamed after the naturalist and hunter, Jim Corbett in 1956. The park is situated in the Nainital district of Uttarakhand. It is a protected area for the endangered Bengal tigers of India.

The park is a major ecotourism destination and contains 488 different species of plants and a wide variety of fauna. More than 585 species of migratory and resident birds, 33 species of reptiles, 7 species of fish, 37 species of dragonflies and 7 species of amphibians have been sited here. |
