| Eravikulam National Park was initially set up with the objective of preservation of Nilgiri Tahr. This park is a home to the maximum number of Tahr’s and shelters Atlas Moth, Sambhar;s, Elephants, Langur, Tigers, Leopards and many such animals. It is spread across in the area of 97 sq km and exhibits the breathtaking natural scenery of exotic flowers and rolling grasslands. |

| The highest mountain peak of Himalayas, towers over the sanctuary. It is located in the Devikulam, 15 kms away from Munnar. It was announced as a sanctuary in 1975, with a consideration to its amazing ecological fauna, flora, zoological and geo-morphological significance. |
