| India, in the whole world, is famous for its cultural ethics and norms. Indian religious values give rivers a special importance, Ganges being the most important river of them. Ganges or Ganga has its source as Gaumakh in the southern Himalayas, on the Indian side of Tibetan border. The Ganges is 1560 miles long and flows through China, Nepal, India and Bangladesh. According to Hindu mythology this holiest river is named after goddess Ganga, daughter of mountain god Himalaya. Goddess ganga is the second wife of Lord Shiva and resides in his head. |
