Koneru Humpy
Koneru Humpy, the first women grand chess-master was born on 31st March in 1987 in Andhra Pradesh, India. So far, she has won four World Titles and in the age of 15 she achieved the GM title. In 1998, she participated in the world under-10 competition and won the gold medal. She became the first women chess player to receive Men’s Grandmaster title in 2002.
In the month of July, 2006, Humpy occupied the second position in women's rankings. In 2001, she won the World Junior championship and in 2006 she lost the Women's World Chess Championship in the second round.
