India has a unique distinction of producing the largest number of movies and that too in many languages. India produces more than 1000 feature films and 900 short films every year. It is estimated that, a total of about 15 million people see films in India everyday, either at cinema theatres or on video and cable.
The Indian film industry is the largest in the world in terms of ticket sales and number of films produced annually. The Hindi film industry, based in Mumbai, is the largest branch of Indian cinema.
With changing times, the Indian movies are also catching up with the world. The globalization of the Indian movies is another feather in the cap. People all around the world love to watch the Indian cinema. Nowadays, the Indian cinema is becoming westernized. And this trend can be largely seen in the Hindi movies.
