 National game of a country is that in which that country excels and it is played at national and international level. The official national game of India is hockey. At a time Indians were ruling this game. The legends of hockey like Major Dhyan Chand mark India as a leader of this game. Hockey has been played in India for time immemorial. The Golden Era of the national game of hockey in India was the period from 1928 - 1956 when India won 6 successive gold medals in the Olympic Games. Before the official adoption of hockey as a national game in India various other games were called the national games such as Kabbaddi, Parcheesi and few more. |
